We have a very plausible theory explaining the proliferation of dead badgers on our walks around the shire! Just outside Malmesbury there is a gurt big solar farm (it goes on for miles!), complete with porta loos, porta cabins and a burger van, presumably for the workers. Said burger van is not serving up, as its sign would have you believe, beef burgers but is indeed serving up badger burgers.
We couldn't test this theory by sampling a burger as it was late and dark and the van was not open. The pub however, was. So after a brisk 7 miles of night walking involving torch strobing to twitch inducing proportions (Graham), fannying about in the bushes trying to flush out wildlife (Julian) and wind propulsion (Pete), we rewarded ourselves with a couple of swift ones in the Hog (doesn't Pete look nice in his technical base layer?!) Good job all around.
