Can I be happy for 100 days in a row? I don’t know, I’ve never stopped to analyse it so I signed up to #100happydays to give it some thought. The idea is simple; post a photo of what made you happy today (via your social media of choice) for 100 days in a row.
I’m not sure if they mean happy for the whole day, or to find moments of happiness in each day. Either way, I love the idea of taking the time to appreciate something in each day that makes me happy.
I like being happy. I like people around me to be happy. I find negative and pessimistic people hard to be with. I don't like confrontation. I like things to be nice and for everyone to get along and be good to each other. I may be a bit of a hippy. I may have issues.
I am naturally a fairly happy, glass half full, look for the good in everything kind of person. But not always. I'm also prone to the odd blue spell and (sorry to perpetuate the stereotype) once a month can be a right old irrational, grumpy bitch.
Like many others who’ve signed up to #100happydays I’m using the 'challenge' to identify the things that make me happy so I can fill my days with more of them! And for the act of looking for the happy in each day and taking time to appreciate it to become habitual.
Starting this challenge while on holiday puts me at an unfair advantage in finding things to be happy about. It also sets the bar quite high for happy moments! I know not every day is full of sunshine, fluffy kittens and champagne moments. Some days are full of tired, irritable children, household chores, grey skies and dreary work. So part of the ‘challenge’ will be to find things to be happy about on those days seriously lacking in euphoria!
