A productive and satisfying day working on the new 'Marketing In A Box' website for Electric Octopus.
When I grow up I want to be a travel writer, but in the meantime the myriad smalls I've spawned require me to have a proper job. Enter Electric Octopus, the marketing and design agency I founded in 2009. Marketing is my background, a skill set I've studied for, honed and developed over the years. I enjoy marketing and (despite the challenges and stress that comes with it) I enjoy running my own business. But it's not traveling the world, then getting paid for writing about it which is my dream job.
I think few people are lucky enough to truly enjoy what they are paid to do. For those of us who have to spend weekdays in an office to earn a living, the concept of perpetual happiness is a complex one. It's a fact of life for most that there are days on end when you seem to just get up, go to work, go home and repeat. So #100happydays is an interesting exercise in finding moments of happiness in days were you may not be doing what you would choose to do.
When a day spent at work is a satisfying one, that can be celebrated.
